basic ftp client

Hi,

Brand new to the forum, looking for a basic ftp client for my SLES box. I have a ton of old scripts that are littered with ftps’ and i am migrating to them to a new server . I really dont’ want to have to set up keys for all destination servers/mainframes/etc. I tried ncftp but didn’t seem to get what i wanted and hoped their was a good old fashioned ntp basic client. am i wrong?

Thanks all.

First off, if you have questions about SLES, you’re asking in the wrong forum. On my openSUSE however the old /usr/bin/ftp is in package lukemftp (No idea what it means). Neither do I know if it does what you want.

You’ll want to ask in the SLES forums over at http://forums.suse.com -
openSUSE is the upstream project for SLES.

But this is the openSUSE forum, not the SLES forum. Please post there (same
login).

SLES/SLED forums

in openSUSE both lukemftp and lftp supply the plain client.
