Banshee Repo Down?

Wondering if there is an issue with the Banshee repo as listed in Community repos in Yast in OS 12.1 (KDE)?

I keep getting an error from Yast about it is not accessible on auto-refresh. Tried deleting the repo, then adding it again from the Community Repos menu, but get the same error for over a week now. Ran a search, but didn’t come up with anything. Thanks.

Banshee comes with GNOME, but does work in KDE. I don’t see a Banshee repo though there used to be one back in the openSUSE 11.3 days as I recall. I just get it from GNOME or the standard openSUSE repositories. Have you installed Banshee and if so, are you trying to update it? Is there a problem in running Banshee? Why are you looking for a separate repository these days?

Thank You,

By his description, YaST offers it.

In the list of repos you get when in YaST you request the list of community
repos.

Banshee is in both the openSUSE 12.1 update and Oss repositories and works just fine. There used to be a separate Banshee repository way back when and I thought my message was requesting more information from the OP. Who are you trying to help Carlos?

Thank You,

I was asking because a Banshee repo was showing up in the community repo list – and that repo was causing a “server not available” error when Yast tried to auto-refresh. I deleted it from the active repo list in Yast and no more error.

So I don’t know the repository address you were using, but its not required to load and use Banshee in openSUSE 12.1. If I wanted the most recent version, I would just add in the GNOME repositories. However, unless I was having a problem I was trying to fix, I would stick with the version supplied by the openSUSE repositories and look no further. And, I am happy to hear you worked out this issue yourself. Way to go walla299!

Thank You,

You.
Apparently you don’t understand the question of the OP.

There were some changes made in the Banshee repositories last week. The new URI for 12.1 is

Index of /repositories/Banshee/12.1

Thanks for the URL chief_sealth and is this URL located on one of the openSUSE repository listing pages by chance? How would one find this normally? Do you know why it was changed?

Thank You,

It was announced on the Banshee mailing list. The new repository can be found by searching the OBS as normal.

You have to change it here:

<http://susepaste.org/8962600>

Tell whoever maintains that list to correct the link, because that’s the
one the OP is using.

I post the photo so that you understand the problem.

Okay. The changed URL would explain the error I was getting in Yast then. No problem.

Thank you for the info.
