Banshee doesn't play video, but tries to

Platform: openSUSE 11.2 Gnome (installed from LiveCD)

I see that whenever I try and run a video, the system defaults to try and run it in Banshee.

Banshee, though, sits there with a black screen and the information on what it is supposed to be playing. Clicking the Play button does nothing. This includes OGG (OGV?) video files.

Does anybody use this feature in Banshee and got it to work?

I used to have the same problem. I then followed the ten-step troubleshooting guide for multimedia issues (available in the FAQ of this forum) and this problem was solved, along with many others! Did you try that?
