Banshee cannot play .wma, while other players can

I’ve got the multimedia stuff setup as here: Multi-media and Restricted Format Installation Guide - openSUSE Forums

I can play .wma files with VLC or with mplayer without any problems. However trying to play them with banshee it doesn’t work and it pops up a dialog asking whether I want to search for a suitable codec (which also doesn’t work).

Does anyone know how I can get banshee to play .wma files?

What version of openSUSE please

11.2 i586 with all updates applied

Check your packages against this and settings carefully

Finally do this

Thanks, the “Switch system packages to the versions in this repository” did the trick. It installed about 40 or 50 packages from packman and now playing WMA works in Banshee.

We do our best to please;)
