Bandluxe C120

Hi, I plugin the bandrich c120 usb 3G modem , but how to use it on the openSUSE13.2 ?? Can everybody tell me ?? Thanks

It’s always useful to know the chipset. With the device plugged in, do

lsusb

and the following command can assist with determining the active driver bound to the device

usb-devices
  • Look for the ouput block pertaining to the device chipset.

I’m still using openSUSE 13.1, but a quick search of /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/40-usb-modeswitch.rules confirmed an entry for

# BandRich BandLuxe C100, C120, C170, C270, C3xx
ATTR{idVendor}=="1a8d", ATTR{idProduct}=="1000", RUN+="usb_modeswitch '%b/%k'"

So, your device should be supported, assuming that usb_modeswitch is installed. Others have reported problems with some 3G devices not being handled correctly with openSUSE 13.2, and I think that has been down to problems with the package build, so let us know if you have further problems here.

Anyway, you’ll need to have NetworkManager activated if you haven’t already (YaST > Network Devices > Network settings, select under ‘Global Options’)
