Bad performance with 11.1 and proprietary nvidia drivers

I’ve just installed openSUSE 11.1 (64bits) with KDE4.1. I also installed
the nvidia proprietary drivers by using this link:
http://opensuse-community.org/nvidia.ymp

Now kwin effects work but the overall performance is terrible. I can’t
even move a window without seeing glitches.

I’ve got a Core2Duo T8100 at 2.10GHz, 4GB of memory and a GeForce8400M
so i would expect a much better performance.

Any tips on how to improve performance ?
Thanks.

Hi!
You can improve your card’s performance by installing the latest beta
drivers from nvidia: ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86. Thow-to is under
the link.
Good luck.

For installing beta drives you need to have installed kernel-sources,
kernel-header and gcc.
