Has any one been able to get Bacula or Amanda to work? Has anyone been able to figure out what the documentation is trying to say. Thanks.

What are you expecting as an answer? Obviously some people must have got Amanda and Bacula to work. And what exactly are your problems with the documentation?
For bacula there is no included docs on opensuse so you have to use the web docs. Which do not seem to mach the config files that were installed so you do not know how to configure it. When you start to read the on line docs you get getting started then instlation and then its test your tape drives before you do any thing else. Nothing seems to be in the right order. I dont know what databse Bacula is using that is a compile option I gess its using Mysql.
Amanda sees to be just as hard.
