I’m looking for a usb or some type of drive to backup my systems. I looked
at some of the drives for windows and OS10, but did not find any that say
they work with linux. I am using openSUSE 11.0, 10.3 (dual boot) 11.0 is
production and 10.3 will be converted to 11.1 for testing.

Any USB drive will do, really.
They usually come formatted in FAT or NTFS. You best use those “as is”, if
you want to exchange files with non-Linux machines.
For a backup (think rsync), just reormat it to ext2/3. That will allow you
to keep Linux file properties, such as ownership and rights.

Thanks I’ll look at the usb drives. Files. etc to Windoes and Vista is not
areal issue. I’m more interested in backup of /home etc. So resync should
work.
