backport of kernel interactivity patches?

Hi,

I was wondering if openSUSE kernel devs are going to backport the patches that alleviate interactivity problems when a system is sustaining high disk IO. I don’t know about other openSUSE 11.3 users but my system is barely usable when I do something as simple as a big file copy.

Thanks

I think you should ask this in the factory or kernel opensuse mail lists - where there are devs that
can answer.

Do you - by any chance - have one of those harddisks with physical 4kB sectors? This could explain the poor performance.
