As in the title. I changed from 13.1 to Leap 42.1 (did a clean install) on my Samsung netbook and now the backlight control is not working. Pressing the keys gets the response from KDE OSD, but the backlight stays the same.
Truth is, it never worked ootb, but usually adding “acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor” to GRUB as I read on some website long time ago resolved the problem. This time it does nothing.

I’ve tried installing xbacklight, which I read is supposed to control
backlight from the command line, but it fails too.
And I’m out of options. There has to be a way to make it work, but I
need someone to guide me, as my knowledge is limited.
So please, help me save my eyes and battery life. Thank you in advance.
Hi
Same question in previous post, have you tried the following as a boot
option;
acpi_osi=\"!Windows 2012\"
