If you can boot openSUSE now OK
Just do the work from there, no need for Parted M
Just open a su - terminal and follow the directions to find /boot/grub/menu.lst and enter the details acording to your settings and follow the guide
Hmmm. Sorry but all my guides are in Greek. I understand time loss the translating.
It is not just the time involved, but the risk of mis-translation that could occur. This is an English language forum. If you can’t assist with accurate information in English, then please do not respond stamostolias.
Hmmm. That’s difficult for me. Anyway you are right about that. It is a English forum and I must have a English answer for that. Anyway thank you for reminder.
Anyway you can use Google for that, but Greek is a different language. Anyway now to our theme about grub.
Step 2
2. Once in the live desktop start a RoxTerm, this has root power by default. I have included a video of this being done. We need to start grub, find the menu.lst file, setup grub.
You type: grub
Terminal: grub>
I am at present in live cd mode (GUI) using parted magic cd.
But I can’t find RoxTerm. All I can find is Lxterminal. This has root powers bt default too.
But the problem is when type grub as suggested & shown in the video I get
root@partedmagic:~# grub
bash: grub: command not found
When I type grub & then tab I see grub-setup, & lots of grun stuff.

Google translate Greek to English is pretty much a disaster area.
I’m currently trying to learn Greek (and discovering I have zero talent for
[human] languages) but even I can see some really horrible errors.
One of the favourites is the translation failing to take into account δεν
(“not” for those of you without any Greek) which can really screw things up
in a technical environment :-). Try taking ‘not’ out of ‘Do not turn off the
machine while the firmware is being upgraded’

Just wanted to know this so that I don’t panic if I need to restore Grub2.
In case of Grub 2 I must use Parted Magic Disc ver. 6 , right ?
Are steps the same in case of Grub 2 ?
I just want to practice this on a virtual installation.
Please tell me how do I mess up the grub !!! So that I can practice restoring it.
Most of my friends dual boot Linux with Windows. The Windows installation often gets messed up due to viruses making them reinstall which as you know removes the Grub & they ask me to install their Linux installation. So, will this restoration process sense & add an entry for an existing Windows installation too ?
