Istanbul

Can some please help me. I successfully installed Istanbul and its working. But when I want to save the captured screen information, it just exits. Running it from the command line, the error below shows is printed when it exits

The program ‘istanbul’ received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was ‘BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection)’.
(Details: serial 3498 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

are you sure you must use Istanbul? i ask because the latest news on
its ‘home’ page is over three years old and it seems stuck at the
very low version number of 0.2.2

the error says you probably have a bug…see
http://live.gnome.org/Istanbul where you can learn that bugs are
serviced via Gnome bugzilla…so, you should go there and see if your
bug is already reported…if not do so…

but, while there you might wanna contact the lead developer (as the
program seems to have no help forum, documentation or FAQ outside of
the download) to learn if the program will be patched…
