This looks like a problem in the upstream code. It’s the reverse side of the coin when a distro wants to include recent or even cutting edge versions of applications.

Where did you get that avidemux package? From what repo?
Are you compiling ? If so, why ?
Avidemux-qt 2.5.3 from Packman works just fine.
Pacman’s, the same as yours. It could be problem with avidemux’s itself also, thing, that it should make, but was not capable and crashed .
