Hey all,
This is just an aesthetic suggestion, but is there anyway to change the position of the avatar and the user information, such as post count, location, etc., in a post or thread? It’s not a problem per-say, but it makes a thread or topic larger and can sometimes be hard to read with a name, then the post, rather than the name, avatar and user information being next to the post, as in the case of an IPB board. My other suggestion to go along with this would be to make this an option in the User Control Panel, rather than change it for everyone. I know some may want to keep the post format as is, so I thought it would be a good idea (if the format suggestion takes well) to give the option of having the original or the side-by-side format. If my suggestion is too confusing, this is what the IPB version looks like visually:
=======================+=====================================================================
Avatar | Post Body
Name |
Post Count |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Hope you like the idea!
I agree with this suggestion.
Thanks for the suggestion. We’re going to be working through some other template issues in the near future so we’ll keep that in mind.
Okay. Thanks for the consideration!
Yeah, definitely. Thanks for the consideration. I too would love to see this feature. From my past experience with vBulletin, I think there is an option in the admin CP to allow users to choose to have it at the side. However, since another administrator managed the skins, I’m not sure if the skins needed tweaking for the feauture to work.

You can actually do almost anything you want. It comes down to how much customization you want to do, which can be problematic as each style is made up of a bunch of different files and each one that is customized has to be manually updated each time there is a vB update since vB doesn’t want to stomp on any customizations.
i’m agree 133%. current forum is really hard to read.
about avatar-personal-info position, instead in the left, why don’t try to put it on the right.
So, user can concentrate on the text/message/problem first.
and try to use different color between user-info with message body column.

you sound like one who would appreciate the ability to see only the meat of
the issue–the text…
you ought to give reading/participating via NNTP a whirl…
