Automount USB flash drive

I have posted similar questions on the open-SuSE mailing list, but still not got a solution for the mounting problem of USB sticks when not logged in locally on my Gnome desktop.

So again: How do I configure automounting to function without the need to login on Gnome ?

I am using openSuSE 11.1 Netinstall on x86 with Gnome desktop as my primary desktop. Installation was standard.

You need to install the ivman service “A Generic Handler for HAL

sudo zypper in ivman
sudo /sbin/chkconfig ivman on
sudo /etc/init.d/ivman start
