I have notice that when I want to install an application using yast there are some programs that are selected by yast by default even when I have not selected any program to install, if I click accept they are shown in the installation dialog, these are:
these are 128.5 mb in total, there are others but these are the most big, are this packages necessaries? is it save to uncheck them when installing and application?
They are probably recommended packages that were not available during installation. They are safe to not install but you might require (or want) some features from them. I advise you install them unless you very sure you do not need them. Unless of course you are limited in net bandwidth or disk space.
You can have it tend to not select such packages by selecting, Options -> Ignore recommended packages in yast2 software manager.
Thanks a lot, that solved the problem, I think I don’t need them as they look as wallpapers and icons, there are others packages that look more usefull like codecs etc, but the listed above are too big and bandwith is a limitation

Also you can outright forbid them in yast (probably in zypper as well but
i am too lazy to look it up). Just right click on the selection box and
the choice for forbidden is there.
