Automatic mouse grab doesn't work in VMWare

I’m running openSUSE Tumbleweed as a guest in a Windows host under VMWare Workstation Pro 17.5.2 (the latest version that I’m aware of) and when I login to Plasma 6 under Wayland it won’t automatically grab my mouse as I hover over the VM. This doesn’t happen with with the same VM under X11, nor in my Fedora 40 VM running Plasma under Wayland . I also created recently a new VM with Tumbleweed running the GNOME desktop under wayland and it works as expected. Is there a way I can fix this issue or do I need to file a bug report?

P.S.: I should point out that I’ve double checked the settings and everything is fine on that end.
P.P.S.: I would also like to clarify that the automatic mouse grab works in the sddm screen, but once I login to the plasma session under wayland it stops working.

I’d probably be inclined to look and see if the open-vm-tools package is working properly.

I run VMware 17.5.2 on my GNOME/XOrg system, and I’ve seen the mouse grab be fairly inconsistent myself - usually I have to click into the window to get it to grab, but if I then move the mouse outside the window, it’ll usually grab correctly when I re-enter.

Ah, to be honest I didn’t run my test system with GNOME long enough to experience any issues in it. I will try to search for a way to file a bug report.
