How can I get the taskbar to autohide in gnome? Also if there is a way to get a more traditional start menu it would be nice.

Just right click on taskbar and select “add to panel / gnome traditional
menu”

Thanks, should of known it would be simple. I have used kde 3.x for years, and am trying to adapt to gnome now.
