Auto suspend to ram after x min

Been having trouble getting my laptop to auto suspend to ram after x amount of minutes (option in kde power management kcm). It suspends fine when closing the lid or using the shortcut in KDE menu. It works on neither ac or battery.

Running openSuse with KDE repositories enabled atm. Current KDE version is 4.13.2, kernel 3.11.10-11-desktop. Laptop is an ux32vd.

Im unsure if this is a KDE or opensuse problem, but any advice on where to start looking is welcome!

First… Disable the screensaver and see if that has any effect on your Asus ux32vd.
Second… Create a new user name and test the suspend to ram to see if it works after said amount of minutes.

I would read the openSUSE Help page on s2ram. The s2ram is used in konsole or xterm to test the suspend to ram.

Thanks for the reply! The screen locker seems to be the problem. Can only get suspend to work with Simple Locker and not with the other two options (Desktop Widgets, Screen Saver).

Good to hear that you were able to resolve your problem. Make sure you have pm-utils installed.
You can also look into using xset to control dpms.
