In early KDE4 there were problems, but maybe you are using Gnome or KDE3. So please answer two questions:
which version of openSUSE are you using? If you don’t know, look in the file /etc/SuSE-release
which version Window Manager are you using? If you don’t know then in your file browser click the button at the top: Help → About etc
