I’m looking for an audio visualizer similar to iTunes or MilkDrop for Winamp, that I can use on Linux.
I keep reading that Amarok has implemented libvisual, but I can’t find the option anywhere in Amarok 2.4, so this might have been an older feature that has since been dropped.
Do I have any options here?
At the moment Amarok doesn’t support visualizations but they will do soon according to their FAQ. You might want to check out the music player clementine (Clementine is actually a fork of Amarok 1.4) which supports visualizations using projectM instead of libvisual
Once you have Clementine installed you can find the Visualizations under Tools -> Visualizations
