I am using open -suse 11.1 .During start up I am getting notification such that,
The audio playback device HDA intel (ALC888 Analog) does not work falling back to default.
so please help me rgarding this issue.

If you haven’t already, I would recommend this excellent :good: SDB AudioTroubleshooting - openSUSE :good: guide. Which could help narrow down what the problem could be and more accurately seeking help. And of course, checking back for more helpful diagnostic suggestions.
Reference, falling back to default, this is likely a known bug. Does your audio still work afterward?
I believe a number of users have reported this on both 11.1 and 11.2. For 11.1 there are a more than a fewthreads here, where users have posted solutions that worked for them:

I think I’ve seen other “solutions” as well, but a quick search did not reveal it (I probably had the wrong search parameters).
