Audio issue with ALC880 codec and openSUSE 11.2

Hi, I am new to Linux OS and openSUSE. However,I have been a PC user for many years, so I am using some of that knowledge to help me work with openSUSE. Now, on to my issue. I have a PC that has openSUSE 11.2 that is dual booted with Windows XP MCE. About a week ago, it installed well and everything seem to run fine. However, I have no sound, and nothing is muted. I believe this has to do with the audio codec and alsa driver misconfiguration. I have tried a few things, such as following the steps on SDB:AudioTroubleshooting - openSUSE and a few other places. None have really helped because I am running 11.2, so some of the files and folders are not in the same locations. If any one could help me get my sound back in running order, I would appreciate it.

Please can you run the steps in the last half of this stickie, providing the information it recommends to provide:

Please also complete step 1 of the audio troubleshooting guide, which is to test your sound and advise us if any of the 3 sound tests gave you any sound: SDB:AudioTroubleshooting - openSUSE - step1 how to test your sound

Here is the info you have requested
nlx@linux-s6pw:~> rpm -qa ‘alsa
nlx@linux-s6pw:~> rpm -qa ‘pulse
nlx@linux-s6pw:~> rpm -q libasound2
nlx@linux-s6pw:~> uname -a
Linux linux-s6pw #1 SMP 2009-10-26 15:49:03 +0100 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
nlx@linux-s6pw:~> cat /etc/modprobe.d/sound
cat: /etc/modprobe.d/sound: No such file or directory
nlx@linux-s6pw:~> cat /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf

options snd slots=snd-hda-intel

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel

I still don’t have sound through those tests.
