Audio and Video out of sync

As per the title, all my media files’ audio and video are going out of sync within a few minutes of playing them. This only seems to affect Kaffeine, if I open the media (AVI/DIVX) with Mplayer, it plays fine.

I would prefer to use Kaffeine as the media player, mainly because of the drag and drop playlist editing it provides (compared to mplayer which I can’t see how to do) but for other things such as Kaffeine only allowing one instance of it (whereas MPlayer lets you open multiple, causing all sorts of confusion to my 8 and 4 yr old kids!)

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix the sync problem? I apologise if this is a little vague - if there are any log files or such like you need, please let me know and I will provide

Cheers all

Did you try the smplayer front end to mplayer? IMHO its superior to the kaffeine interface.

Reference your kaffeine problem, which sound engine are you using? Which audio output module have you selected, and which output video module have selected?

If you have the xine sound engine selected, whose packaged version of xine are you using? Novell/SuSE-GmbH version? or Packman packaged version?

And if using Packman packaged libxine1, did you install only Packman packaged multimedia applications? or did you mix videolan packaged applications with the Packman packaged applications?
