Audigy sound card

I have read the post concerning this sound card however, the desktop that I’'m using is the KDE4 version and I have tried all the post concerning this audio card and have my settings as displayed in one of the post.I tried to use Amarok… I can see activity in the EQ but no sound…

Please advise.

Does a test sound work?

Please copy and paste the following into a konsole and advise if you hear a female voice saying “front left”, “front right” 5 times.
speaker-test -Dplug:front -c2 -l5 -twav

If the test sound works, it could be you just have a codec problem.

No sound with this test. I read something about the alsa firmware and just got through trying that ans still no sound. Did I tell you that I’m using the Opensuse 11 operating system?

You say you tried all the posts concerning the audigy.

Did you try this post (to adjust your mixer): [Solution] Creative Audigy 1/2 + 11.0 + KDE/GNOME + ALSA - openSUSE Forums](http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/386773-solution-creative-audigy-1-2-11-0-kde-gnome-alsa.html)

In particular note you have to unmute the audigy analog/digital output jack.

We are good to go!!! I don’t have the kmix icon on the task bar but I now have sound… not the greatest sound yet but it’s a start!!! Thank you so much for your valuable time!!!

14U2DAY,

Just a note I have that sound card as well and it dose use the alsa driver. Works fine in KDE 3.5.
