Audacity does not show up in Pulse Audio Volume Control

I’ve been using Audacity on SuSE 11.4 and it has been working nicely until today. (Oct. 24, 2012)
I just tried doing as the instructions say in this post:Audacity Forum • View topic - Need help to tune Audacity recording with pulse audio

But, Audacity no longer shows up in Pulse Audio Volume Control’s Record tab like it used to.

I’ve had a mic plugged in in the past and it worked along side this set up. Recently, my son unplugged the mic and today (Oct. 24, 2012) I plugged it back in and found the correct spot for it. Now, however, like it said, Audacity no longer shows up in the Record tab of Pulse Audio Volume Control.

My system is SuSE 11.4, the version of Audacity that I’ve been using is: 1.2.14-beta (and NO I cannot install anything new. my system has “aged” and there are no more repos for it, sadly).

Audacity used to work for me quite nicely. I am very sad that something has happened to my settings.
Here’s some info, let me know if there’s anything else needed to fix the problem:
cat /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf
options snd slots=snd-emu10k1

2+Ni.trsEqNGuZ00:SB0090 Audigy Player

alias snd-card-0 snd-emu10k1

The results of: arecord -vv -f cd test.wav
shows:

and this is the result of:

I hope that someone can help with this “older” system. I don’t know what happened to my settings.
