Attempts to remove the Desktop icon in KDE are not working

I have been trying to make my desktop look way cleaner than it already is, to do this I plan to remove the taskbar (which I’ve already, as evidenced by the taskbar not appearing in that image, and now the last thing I need to do is find a way to remove this pesky desktop icon, however I can not seem to. Help would be much appreciated.

Its the infamous cashew, albeit, in another form.

Right click either on it, or on the desktop, or on the taskbar … unlock widgets … drag the cashew off to the taskbar … lock widgets

Hmm, that didn’t seem to work. Though, I did find a plasma widget that removed it. :slight_smile:

you might have had to drag it along the sides and off onto the right corner of the taskbar, as opposed to dragging (a straight line) across the desktop to the taskbar … worked for me anyway :shame:
