ATI Radeon HD3450 Proprietary Driver

Hey,

I am new to fairly new to openSUSE and only moderately familiar with using a Linux system.

I was hoping that someone could give me some advice on the easiest way to install proprietary graphics drivers on openSUSE 11.1 Reloaded (with KDE 4.3.1) for an ATI Radeon HD3450 card.

I am not sure if I can install it from the repository, or whether I have to install it from the ATI website and if I need to do any config after the installer has finished.

Any help would be appreciated!

(BTW I did do search of Forums and while their are some similar threads, many are out of date or not quite what I was looking for. Hope no one mines me creating a new thread  )

As it use the same base repo 11.1
You could normally add the ATI repo for 11.1 and do the install from that.

Once you install Suse it has a basic vesa graphic driver, so i assume you can use a browser.
Just type this adress: http://opensuse-community.org/ati.ymp and follow the installer.

If you install the driver tell us how KDE 4.3 runs on your PC because there was some trouble on the 32-bit systems. I switched to KDE 4.4 because of these problems;)
