Ati Drivers

I had to install the ati drivers manually because of a kernel update that would not let the ones in the repository work with my installation. Now the new drivers are out and I was wondering if I can just install the newer ones the same way I did it before and they’ll work just fine. Or do I have to do something to un-install the ones I already have. I just want to be sure so that I don’t mess anything up.

There is an uninstall command which you have to run in the terminal as superuser.

cd /usr/share/ati

Then run

sh ./fglrx-uninstall.sh

Uninstall will take about 20 seconds and then you will get a message saying the uninstall is complete

Thanks a whole lot, man. I’ll do that and tell you how it goes.
