Asymmetrical CPU clocking

New system:

GA-M61PME-S2P Gigabyte motherboard,AM2/AM2+ slot
4GB memory
AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Dual Core, 2.7 Ghz speed
openSuse 11.1 64-bit

(may be overkill for this application, but still reusable!)

One CPU shows clock speed of 2700
The other clocks at 1400

Something I am missing?

No that is not a problem at all. AMD instituted that option as part of their later models of AMD processors. IMHO it’s an amazing feature, why clock all cores together when you only need to clock one, or two, or three to get the job done. It also helps them reduce their average power consumption. My laptop does this as well, it clocks between 1000 and 1900 MHZ, both cores individually

Good to know. Thanks.
