ASUS USB-N13 Wireless Adapter - No wireless connection

Hi,
I wasn’t to get a ASUS USB-N13 wireless adapter to work on a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop with version 13.1. So have upgraded the system to 13.2. Unfortunately, with a similar lack of success. I have followed the release notes and have disabled wicked and enabled NetworkManager. My ethernet connection is visible in the panel, but I get no response from the wireless adapter. I have checked the status of wicked and NetworkManager and they are disabled and running, respectively.

Yast hardware information shows that the adapter is recognised.

However, I’ve noticed further on in the hardware output list the following.

Which may suggest that not everything has been loaded.

rfkill list seems to confirm this, as it shows only a USB bluetooth device, but nothing for wifi.

I know the wireless adapter is operational, as this is a dual boot system and it is working fine when I switch to Windows XP.

The USB-N13 package included a CD with what appears to be linux driver source code, but I’m reluctant to compile a new driver, when there may be a simpler solution. Especially as I understood that this adapter was now supported natively by the kernel.

Your advice will be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi
Install the kernel-firmware package (13.2 Updates repo) which contains the file: rtl8192cufw_TMSC.bin

Thank you. The PackageKit manager seemed to have got hung up and had failed to download and install the kernel update (as well as many others). A manual update has, however, been a solution to the problem and I have a wireless connection, as may be evidenced from this post.
