Asus U3000 Mini DVB-T Tuner stick

I recently upgraded from 10.3 to Suse 11.0 which is GREAT. After the upgrade I bought an Asus u3000 Mini DVB-T USB tuner stick which is “supposed to be” fully supported under Linux 2.6.25.16.1 kernel. I plug in the USB tuner , then the correct modules load. I also added the firmware file to /lib/firmware. A /dev/dvb device is created, but I cannot get the /dev/dvb/adapter0 or /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 to open up for video under VLC/TVtime/Kaffeine…etc. WHY?? Please see info below. Thanks
