Hi there,
I’ve tried to install Opensuse 11.2 on my Acer Aspire One 110 without success !
I’ve used the GNOME Live CD, burned on a 1Go USB Key plugged in the first right USB connector (usually /dev/sdc)
The Live form works fine (Wifi, Sound, font size, …) - Good job
I’ve so decided to install it on an external USB Key plugged in the left USB connector (usually known as /dev/sdb)
I’ve chosen to install it on a single 8Go partition on my USB key, to perform other realistic tests.
I’ve chosen to install the MBR on /dev/sdb, because I don’t want to modify my existing Linux (on /dev/sda) - I’ve already successfully performed this operation with easypeasy1.5 and fedora11.
The installation process runs without problem, except the grub installation process that fails !
I’ve tried manual operations and nothing work, because grub (even chroot’ed) does not see correctly my USB key. It always gives the following:
grub> root
(fd0) …
It’s strange, but it explains why the installation process fails.
Any idea?
Kind regards,
Olivier
