Create a Local Repository
This guide is for the purpose of creating a local snapshot of a ftp repository mirror. You might want to do this when a particular instance of packages provide a solution to a problem you were working on or they provide a particularly good working example of the software in question.
For Example: I have done this with X11 here
Based on a users experience here: http://tinyurl.com/qxf8kud
I have personally used such a solution with the ‘wine’ repository
Step 1: Get the FTP location

Step 2: Open the FTP Location

Step 3: Copy the FTP Site to Local Machine

Step 4 and 5: Add the Local Repository

and

You can now use this local repo.
