It seems then that it is not recognizing the fact that the file has been
split. You need a program that will join them.
I haven’t looked for a linux utility, but in windows hjsplit works
well. It does run under wine.

I’ve noticed that ark has trouble with rar files with a space in the
filename.
Aku isn’t any different.
The one gui program that seems to work flawlessly is file-roller.
No problems with spaces in filenames or whatever archive.
After installing “unrar” not “rar” with yast, I have an extract option
on the right click menu in konqueror that unpacks multiple rar archives.
Right click on the file with the “.rar” extension not one of the
numbered ie “.r01, .r02” files.
For numbered archives that aren’t rar’s such as .001, .002 try
installing p7zip, it has to be run from a console though and as I recall
it has problems with spaces in filenames. You can do batch file renaming
with krename to fix a long list of names quickly, so it might help to
install it too.
I hate workarounds to problems that never existed before, until
developers messed up the code so much that MORE bugs are created. There
ought to be progress, not retrogression! Easier - not MORE difficult.
Fewer – not more – bugs.
