I have installed suse11.3 in virtual box (my main computers still run suse11.0). Version 11.3 still has the same problems I had with suse11.2 that I could not use yast for online updates, installations, etc as it could not connect to the repositories. Browsers and commandline go out through the proxy but yast could only be used after I entered
“export ZYPP_ARIA2C=0” and accessed yast2 afterwards from command line.
Still the same problem now with 11.3, even though there were plenty of posts in the forum about this. Is there a way to set-up the system that I can just use Yast from the menu for updates?
Any help is appreciated
Cheers

You can have that setting globally. I don’t remember now if in one of the
zypper configuration files, or bash or X profile.
