No, the DVD and live CD are similar in what you get after installation. The difference is that a live CD s basically dumping an image onto the disk where the dvd has to deal with dependencies, rpm, databases. The dvd contains only basic images that get installed and the rest are pure rpm files.
I got it to install, took me 3 days, and i love it, i cannot express my gratitude, thank you everyone. rotfl!

install, then your root password and user password are the same!!
if you had unchecked the default “Use this password for system
administrator”, then you would have been prompted to give a DIFFERENT
(and hopefully strong/secure password)
personally, i think the default to have one pass for both prime user
and root is stupid, but they didn’t ask me…i can only guess they
were trying to make it ‘easy’ to migrate from training wheel operating
systems… bah!

One more thing guys, ive tried to install themes, i even installed the pixmap theme, and it still says this theme will not look as intended. >:(
