I’m in the process of upgrading my servers from OpenSuSE 13.x to Leap 42.1. One of my servers has an Areca ARC1231ML RAID controller, and its volumes are not detected by the Leap installer. The boot messages indicate the system detects an ARC1280/ARC1280ML card (name “mismatch” is normal) and loads the arcmsr driver. lsmod indicates that the driver is in fact loaded. I do not see any devices such as /dev/sda, /dev/md/*, etc. Booting the 13.2 installer works as expected with all volumes detected, and 13.2 will create /dev/sdx for each RAID volume. I haven’t had the time to dig into this, but I figured I’d post first to see if anyone else has encountered a similar problem. Any ideas appreciated.
