Maybe but I am worried that there will be a massive summer transport strike and I would stranded there unable to go back home.

Hello,

Initially I thought the same. But Greek gecko’s clarified my doubt. July month is summer holidays in Greece & all people are on holidays etc. Schools are also closed. And so on, less chances of any strikes.

I received my Schengen visa last week. All ready to hop in to Thessaloniki. This conference gonna be action packed for sure after going through the schedule.
