Are there do's and don't for posting or publishing openSUSE wallpaper?

As the title says. I have some wallpaper I created that I would like to share.
They are not ugly enough but I think decent IMHO a bit to have some folks consider liking it. :grinning:

I went to the site you linked. and I’ve seen the wallpaper designs. Can I upload mine first in the forum for suggestions/review/opinion/bashing before considering on sharing it to the openSUSE wallpaper site

Sure, don’t see why not…

I will post it in the screenshot section soon :grinning:
Thanks

Can’t login to the forum yesterday, sometimes 3 days that I can’t login.
I read again the wallpaper section and the use of the gecko and brand name.
The type of application required to create the graphics should be inkscape or gimp .
and some etc. provisions.
I think my wallpaper will not go through and maybe because my geckos and brand name though it follows the original gecko image and graphics/fonts style is in 3D and made entirely in blender. I might get in trouble :grinning:
I think I need more insight and education regarding the wallpaper and use of the logo of openSUSE.
Thanks

I would make them, submit them, ask for review and see what happens. Someone at some moment will either accept it, or tell you why it’s rejected / what needs improvement. Like we say in NL: ā€œNO is what you already have, YES is what you can getā€.

I’m curious what you used to make it - several years ago, I created an image I used for wallpaper using Blender, and this looks a bit like a blender render (using Cycles).

@hendersj It’s blender using optix render.

Cool, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of Optix before, so now I have a new raytracer to check into.

It’s available when using nvidia. Much faster than cycles. It’s built in to blender.

Interesting, I’ll have to check it out (I have a 3090ti, and cycles renders pretty quickly, but always interested in finding ways to make the render even faster).

Sorry for the confusion. I stand corrected with my previous post. It was rendered using cycles but instead of cuda I used optix.

No worries - I looked into it, and it definitely is an improvement over CUDA. Appreciate the chat about it and the tips.

Nothing like rendering a quad-view and rotating the camera real-time and not having to wait for the render to finish.
