Are there any security risks to Mono?

Are there any security risks I should be aware of if I have Mono installed?

Well except for perhaps a risk of Microsoft coming down on you, I don’t think the risk is the same as running a Windows program under Wine or using a Virtual copy Windows in Linux. Still, any code designed for Windows that can somehow be ran in Linux must carry some sort of added risk. None the less, it could not yet be all that great as far as I can tell. Perhaps someone who is a Mono expert could pipe in here to help out.

Thank You,

It really depends on what you plan to do with Mono. It’s similar to Java, and not really different in security. If you were to develop a website based on Mono, you would have to take the same precautions you would for any Web project. Keep up to date on patches and you’ll be fine.

I would think that if there are known security bugs, they would be
solved.

you could have a look here:
