AR242X suse 11.1 stopped working

wireless stopped working (wireless card OK, as Vista wireless still working).

I have tried to re-install a couple of time every other day or so for a week. Simpler and simpler installs, trying madwifi in repo on install OR part way thru online updates OR after all updates are complete and at best, wireless tries to work - will show one AP point and not always the strongest signal.

modprobe info below - first I have noticed this ath9k
(This last install I did a complete online update and never added madwifi - still no wireless, but I did see madwifi update - strange. Then I check YAST2 Software Manager and find madwifi kmp-pae kernel -which is the correct one, but still wireless was broken. So I re-installed this madwifi kmp-pae -still broke- and then added madwifi Tools. Still broken.

:~ # modprobe -l | grep ath

HWinfo - confusing to me - I don’t see ath9k any where.

I used 1-click install for madwifi to fix, see below URL:

Software.openSUSE.org madwifi

I would book mark the below link, as finding 1-click installs I find difficult, and only the below search page seems to find 1-click installs - which are often very helpful.
Software.openSUSE.org/search.

After this 1-click install (madwifi-kmp-pae) for my kernel I now get:

modprobe -l | grep ath

/lib/modules/2.6.27.29-0.1-pae/kernel/drivers/md/multipath.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.27.29-0.1-pae/kernel/drivers/md/dm-multipath.ko

/lib/modules/2.6.27.29-0.1-pae/updates/drivers/net/wireless/ath5k/ath5k.ko

and all seems well again!
