I am using KDE and the Applications menu freezes the entire system if I try to launch an APP via search.
If I navigate through the menu it allows me to open anything, also the APPs attached to the panel work fine.
I searched for virtualbox for example, tried to pin on the panel so I could use it. But because I did it via a search it freezed too.
When I navigate through the menu I can open Virtualbox nice and fast.
So I assume it is only about searching in the applications menu.
To be more specific about the freezing, the mouse do not move, I loose keyboard control, eventually the mouse moves for one inch per minute.
Try this, In an elevated console (su or sudo), run the following command to view your syslog in real time. If your system freezes, you should be able to view the last few entries before your system froze
journalctl -f
With the above running in a console,
Now do whatever that causes your problem.

I am researching and it seems to be a problem with baloorunner. I just do not know how to fix yes or if I can disable it.
I am not sure if it is the same as Baloo File Indexer.
When you want to post something that isn’t permitted or supported (in any app including these Forums)
You should use a pastebin.
Two pastebins are commonly used by openSUSE Forum Users, the openSUSE Paste and the general Pastebin. You simply paste your content, modify the settings if desired and save. The result will display a new page address in the web browser address bar, post that as the reference in your Forum post.
Do as much analysis as you’re able,
If you reach the point you’re unable to resolve the problem yourself and we in this Forum can’t help (You can also contact others on IRC), then you can submit a bug to https://bugzilla.opernsuse.org. Be sure to include a link to your posted logfiles in your bug report. To help those looking at your issue, you can exclude irrelevant log data but be careful not to remove anything that might be important, it’s better to err on the side of posting too much rather than leaving out something that might be important.
I am happy to report good news. Problem solved And I described the process in detail.
The two commands I used to have a clue were:
’ journalctl -f ’ as advised above, and
’ top ’ to see processes using CPU percentage. (a terminal based task manager)
Something about baloo was weird.
This first atempt did not work:
Moving these files from /usr/bin/ to somewhere else, so I would not regret to have deleted if I was wrong
