where can i find applications for open suse 11.1 like that of windows…such as download managers… and other softwares…

and also how to install them???

Open YaST>Software Repositories and Add from the Community Repositories list at least Packman and Videolan along with any others that seem relevant to your computer usage, e.g. Mozilla.

Then Software Management and search for the programs you want - often even if you don’t know the name typing in a keyword will bring up a list of options.

Alternatively, try the Webpin option.

Just those 4. You can add others if and when required, install the software you want, and then remove those other repos. Don’t keep them enabled.
