Something happened such that the menu now only appears as long as one refresh cycle of my monitor. It is too short for me. I’ve done a bit of googling and haven’t landed on a page that will tell me how to get out of this situation. Anyone know? I am sure there is a program that does the desktop configuration. Just haven’t stumbled on it yet.
Maybe this problem?

Set the focus method to focus on click and it should work.
And/or lower the focus stealing prevention.
It might be. Looks vaguely familiar. It’s been a long time. Thank you.
Once upon a time, pop-ups would capture my typing and accept my
typing as an answer and proceed, so I set focus stealing prevention
to “extreme”. It is only a problem because these menus are pop-ups
see that they don’t have focus and go away. Instantly. And I forget
after two years and an intervening install.
sigh.
