FYI jdole… searching for that topic only shows your topic. see screenshot

Had to use google to find the topic.

I’m on 15.6, but in the future a screenshot showing the issue would help others help you.
I assume jcdole means this.

yes, me too intend this, in 15.6 is present in 16.0 not

Again, can we see the issue please?

Available here on 15.6 and 16.1

in 15.6 is shown here
clicking on application menu on standard panel then right click on an application it does show add to panel (widget) option

in 16.0 plasmashell 6.4.2 clicking on application menu on standard panel then right click on an application it doesn’t show add to panel (widget) option but shows only add to desktop and pin to task manager options

but in 16.0 plasmashell 6.4.2 adding a side panel and clicking on application menu on the added side panel then right click on an application it show regularly add to panel (widget) option and add to desktop option

so the problem is how can I have add to panel (widget) option also in the application menu on standard panel??

please see : Application menu on standard panel doesn't show "add to panel (widget)" option

sorry for this mistake.

Hello

sorry for this mistake.

pier_andreit has fully explain the problem which still not have receive an answer.

There is no problem. Pin to task manager does exactly what the OP wants

not, becouse pinning to the task manager make the icon to move when click on them, adding widget behave differently, when you click on the icon it remain there and an icon opens in the task manager

Ah, OK. I think you may want to play with the settings of the quick launch task manager, specifically the grouping / sorting. For me Plasma5 is ages ago, I simply accepted that things can work differently in Plasma6 and moved on.

This is an opinion, not a solution to the asked question.

not, I would like a thing that in plasma6 exist but not in the standard panel, in plasma6 I can have the add to panel (widget) option but not in the standard panel, I consider this a bug or at least a regression, so if I remove the icon-only task manager then I can add applications with add to panel (widget) and readd the icon-only task manager, if I can do this workaround why I cannot have the add to panel (widget) option directly in the standard panel?
so how can I have the add to panel (widget) option in the standard panel?

I think you’d have to go upstream with this, not thinking this is an openSUSE specific thing.

@pier_andreit Did some research, and this actually is the way things work today in Plasma6. Now please have a look at this ( the kicker menu has the alternative openSUSE logo, but the rest is stock. I use a top panel+a bottom panel, the bottom one only has the kicker and the quick launch. As you can see the open items are on the right, sorted alphabetically. On the left you see the inactive pinned ones.

I suggest that you adapt to that, maybe set the sorting to Manual, maybe don’t use grouping. From what I have read, what you want is not gonna happen the way you want it to. Unless you do a lot of work, a.o. adapting the context menus. Which you can.

Yes, I do see the option “Add to Panel(widget)” on my 15.6 system. It looks like what was mentioned before is correct, that It does do the same thing as pinning to taskmanager.

On Tumbleweed I do see the option after adding a new panel. I added spectacle, but get an error the trying to use the widget.

KDE issue right?
