Application Launcher Rearrange Favourites

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to rearrange the favourites list in the application launcher please? I’ve searched around and found that it used to be called kickoff, but I can’t find anything about organising the favourites.

Sorry, KDE4.

Drag and drop - that is with latest KDE4 version.

Beineri and Knurpht, thanks for your replies. However drag and drop just gives me a “can’t drop here” mouse pointer (red circle with a line through it), and right click only gives me the options “Remove from favourites”, “Add to Desktop”, and “Add to Panel”.

Just to make sure we’re talking about the same thing - I’m talking about when you have a default installation of openSUSE, and you left click the little round lizard icon on the bottom left of the screen. A menu appears with five tabs - “Favourites”, “Applications”, “Computer”, “Recently Used”, “Leave”. I’m looking to rearrange the Favourites menu.

Which version of openSUSE are you using?

If it’s 11.0 then it’s KDE 4.0 which is a mess. If it’s 11.1 then it’s 4.1.3 which is stable and I believe should have the ability to rearrange your favorites. Can you confirm which version of KDE 4 you’re using? Click on the green lizard icon then go to the Computer tab. Then choose System Information and it will tell you there.

using KDE3.5.7 on openSUSE 10.3:

  • hover the mouse pointer over the icon you wish to move to a higher
    or lower position in the Favorites list

  • left click and hold down the button to capture the icon

  • drag the icon to the place you want it on the list

  • release left mouse button

if that does not work on your KDE, then:

  • if you are using KDE4, maybe it has not been implemented yet (KDE4
    is nowhere near as complete as is KDE3)

  • something is wrong with your setup, or you have discovered a bug

Hi,

I’m using 11.1 and KDE 4.1.3, but still no luck with any of these suggestions on either of my laptops :frowning:
