Application Krusader (file manager) Crashing - Guidance Appreciated

Using openSUSE 12.1 (x86_64), KDE 4.8.5, Krusader 2.0.0-23.3.1

Krusader crashes on start up by normal user but runs normally when started by root or another user. Dolphin starts normally.

Crash report ‘not useful’. Terminal shows:
KGlobal::locale::Warning your global KLocale is being recreated with a valid main component instead of a fake component, this usually means you tried to call i18n related functions before your main component was created. You should not do that since it most likely will not work
KCrash: Application ‘krusader’ crashing…
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/drkonqi from kdeinit
sock_file=/home/rob/.kde4/socket-linux-90ml/kdeinit4__0

On advice from others with similar errors I tried entering :~> export $(dbus-launch) before launching Krusader but same error occured.

The error seems related to corrupted system settings for this user, ie. NOT krusader NOR KDE, but error only seems to occur with krusader.

Can anyone suggest how I might try to fix this?

I see two krusader flies in ~/.kde4

find ~ -name *krusader*

which are
~/.kde4/share/apps/krusader
~/.kde4/share/config/krusaderrc
maybe you simply delete them and try again?

Thanks mh

Renaming the file ~/.kde4/share/config/krusaderrc fixed the problem.

I did try renaming the directory ~/.kde4/share/apps/krusader, which did not help, but I had not looked for Krusader related files under ~/.kde4/share/config.

I am very grateful for your quick response and for the benefit of your experience and kindness to help fix this.

Can this thread now be marked fixed?

I think we do not use “mark as solved” here, but I think there is a tag
you can add or so.
Glad to hear you solved it.
