apper update/notification issue

In Opensuse 12.3 RC1 KDE, Apper noticed me to update packages, I started the update and closed the Apper window. The update process then was shown in the notification addon. But the progress bar was always at 0% and the speed indicator was always at 0K/s. The downloading progress was actually going and it finished soon. I dont know if there is anyone having the same problem. Apper 0.8.0-2.5.1 ,packagekit 0.8.7-4.8.1 ,plasma-addons 4.10.0-1.1.1
my first post here,Thanks for reading

Hi, welcome

Just wondering: since this is your first post, am I correct in assuming this is your first openSUSE experience? If so, why not start with a stable released version?

On Apper: search the forums, you’ll find that most of us uninstall Apper.

So most of the forum members uninstall Apper? I suspect the answer to that is either no, or you don’t know.

Welcome. There is a recent and ongoing thread for 12.3 RC1 comments in this subforum and it includes at least one other user having initial problems with apper. You should read the comments there.

Did you install from liveCD or DVD?

DVD. Some hours ago I got a series of patches again , I still got 0% and 0K/S visually…I went through the comments and it seems that using Yast or zypper is a better choice.
Thanks for reply.

i think Knurpt’s “us” meant that most of the forum moderators and
often seen helpers either disable, delete or never install
it…(personally, to save the delete/disable step i just don’t install
it…)
