apper applet - update fails

OpenSuse 13.1 x86_64 KDE 4.11.5
I got the icon on my KDE task bar to notifying me of updates. When i click “install” it downs a bunch of items then it fails with a dialog:
A problem that we were not expecting has occurred.
Please report this bug with the error description.
Details
Installation aborted by user.

But, I didnt do anything, i just sat back and watched it happen.

Any ideas as to what this means (since i didnt abort it it must mean something else)?

Apper is not the sharpest pencil in the software box. Don’t go too much about things like what the abort tells you. It stopped working because of a problem. As root do a zypper up it will give you a lot more info of what the problem is.

You may also try as root

rpm --rebuilddb

It may be the rpm database got corrupted

Thanks!
You led me to the problem - disk space was low. Too bad the dialogs don’t have more meaningful error messages.
